A dark bedroom at night: a graphite DREO tower fan by the window, the sheer curtain mid-breath, a sleeper asleep beside a warm bedside lamp

USELESS UNTIL NEEDED · NIGHT FIELD REPORT 002

It's 11pm. The bedroom is still 84 degrees. Sleep anyway.

The DREO Tower Fan 307 is a 36-inch column of moving air built for exactly this hour — as low as 20dB on its lowest speed, and strong enough on its highest to turn the whole room over. The air moves. You stop noticing the machine. You sleep.

One dial.
Two honest numbers.

Every big claim on the box lives somewhere on this dial — the whisper and the gale are the same machine, eight steps apart. Tap a speed and watch what the fan trades.

The two headline numbers live at opposite ends of the same dial. “As low as 20dB” is third-party measured at speed 1 only. “Up to 28 ft/s” and “1158 CFM” are third-party measured at speed 8 only. Quiet or gale — you choose per moment, per night.

Illustrative staging: the 11pm bedroom this fan is built for.

Built for the hours
you're unconscious.

Most fans are designed for a showroom. This one is designed for a dark room with a sleeping person in it — the details below are the difference.

Sleep mode slows the night down

Four modes — Normal, Natural, Sleep, Auto. Sleep settles the fan into its low, slow register while the room gets on with being dark.

Thirty seconds, then the display goes dark

The touch panel's LED auto-dims after 30 seconds and stays out of your eyelids. No glowing cockpit on the nightstand at 2am.

The timer is a from-the-pillow job

Set it with the remote — CR2025 battery included, parked in a holder on the back handle. “The timer function is great for overnight use,” Jean Paul wrote in his verified review. And 90° oscillation sweeps the air across the whole bed instead of drilling one shoulder.

What a fan cannot do.

  • It cannot lower the temperature of the room. Only air conditioning does that. A fan moves air across your skin so sweat evaporates faster and you feel cooler — which, at 11pm under sheets that keep sticking to you, is the sensation you were actually shopping for.
  • The whisper and the gale are different speeds. “As low as 20dB” is measured at the lowest speed. “Up to 28 ft/s” and “1158 CFM” at the highest. In between, it sounds like what it is: air moving. One reviewer at speed 7 called it “humming not chugging” — the honest sound of a fan doing its job.
  • It will not replace a dead AC in a heat wave. It will make the room survivable while you wait on the repair backlog. Shade the windows by day, open them once the outside finally cools, and let the fan move that cooler night air across the bed.
  • That is the deal. No refrigerant, no promises the physics can't keep — just a quiet column of moving air, exactly where you sleep.

“Powerful, Quiet, and Packed with Features.”
“It's sleek, modern, and takes up very little floor space while delivering a surprisingly powerful airflow. Even on the lower settings it moves plenty of air, and the higher speeds are more than enough to cool an entire room. One of my favorite features is how quiet it is, making it perfect for bedrooms... The included remote control is convenient, the digital display is easy to read, and the timer function is great for overnight use.”

“Worth Every Penny!”
“Right out of the box, it only had 2 pieces for bottom stand, which were really easy to put together, then stick the fan on top, twist, and it's done... It keeps me cool at night on the quiet setting and still gives the air flow you want without the high pitch noise.”

“The not so little tower fan that could..”
“Given heat rises in a two story house and summer is coming. I needed a new fan... If it's 75 degrees down stairs. It's 95 or more upstairs. So I need something that will push and circulate!... I have it set to setting 7, I can feel the air moving, I can feel it cooling... Is it whisper quiet? Not really but it's humming not chugging.”

“Pretty good fan. Read complete review to understand more”
“The fan is very easy to assemble no tools required, just snap the two base pieces and then snap the tower on the base... the noise really wont disturb your sleep unless your very sensitive to noise. Just place the tower fan on the other side of the bed.”

Asked at every
hot bedroom door.

On its lowest speed it measures as low as 20dB (third-party tested, DR-HTF007), and the LED display auto-dims after 30 seconds so the room stays dark. Higher speeds are audible — one reviewer at speed 7 called it “humming not chugging.” If you are very noise-sensitive, a reviewer's tip: place the tower on the other side of the bed.

No fan lowers room temperature — only air conditioning does. What it does is move air across your skin so you feel cooler. On its highest speed this one moves up to 1158 CFM (up to 28 ft/s, third-party tested), which is a serious amount of air for a bedroom.

Two base pieces snap together, the tower twists onto the base, and you are done — no tools. Reviewers describe going from box to running in minutes.

Yes, with the CR2025 battery included, and a holder on the back handle so it has a home. There is also a touch panel on top, and the LED display auto-dims after 30 seconds.

Yes — 90-degree oscillation, so the air sweeps across the room instead of drilling one spot.

36.22 inches tall on an 11.81-by-11.81-inch footprint — about a square foot of floor — with a 60-inch power cord. It parks beside a dresser or at the foot of the bed without taking the room over.

The next hot night is already on the calendar. Meet it asleep.

Boring on purpose. Useless most of the year — until the upstairs won't cool or the AC quits, and then it is the best thing in the house.
